Tzar Is one of the nicest horses I have had the privilege of working with – we have never had cross words. He is only for sale as we are not in a position to realise his full potential. A loving experienced competitive home is sought for this exceptional horse.
He had his first event on Saturday 3 April we knew he was a very nice balanced horse, and he didn’t disappoint in the dressage ring – dressage score 24.3 – He was over 4 points clear leader after dressage. He was a little apprehensive going into the first water and unfortunately the water fence judge faulted him for the hesitation. This cost him the class on his first day out. We have videos of the incident which we are happy to share. He took the entire day totally in his stride and you would really think he had been here before.
We have produced him with the help of Olympic rider Karen Dixon, and he is ridden and schooled by her daughter Tara.
Tzar has been with us since a foal and broken last year. Tzar started his showing career as a 3 year old the highlight of his career was third in the very strong lightweight class Dublin Horse show 2019. We had some shows between lockdowns last year and he won 4 four year old classes.
He is a lovely 17.1hh 5 year old Bay Irish Sport Horse Gelding.
He is by Nazar (TB) sire out of mare by Ghareeb (TB) both of these are well respected sires of event horses. At one stage Ghareeb (now deceased) was the leading sire of event horses. Tzar is a traditionally bred Irish horse and is actually 15/16 Thoroughbred.
He has lovely paces and is good with the farrier, to load, clip and hacks out with confidence. To try to summarise Tzar he has HOYS quality conformation and movement, the scope and ability to perform at the highest level and a very straightforward attitude and temperament.
