Songbird is a sweet natured 12 year old 14.2 thoroughbred mare.
She was broken in late – around 6 or 7
Pony raced for 2 seasons – fairly moderate
Current owners took her on for their daughter to make into a showjumping pony
She was very quick to learn and willing.
One characteristic is that she does have a 4 time canter which can take some getting use to but once mastered presents no problem.
She went on to have numerous successes at local shows and unaffiliated jumping up to 80cm (2018)
Their daughter then grew out of juniors so their son took her on. She proved to be the perfect step up from his 13.2’s.
We registered her at the beginning of this year as they were doing so well together and they have been competing BS since at 90.
She qualified for scope in March 2020.
Although she always jumps her heart out and does her very best for you she is best suited to this level. Unfortunately current child wants to jump up the levels.
For this reason she would be the ideal pony for someone just wanting to do all pony club activities, fun hacking and unaffiliated shows up to 90.
She loves cross country too – although she hasn’t done much of it as current child is focused on showjumping.
She’s great to hack out, alone or in company on roads or fields.
She hunted in Devon before they had her but our focus has been showjumping so not since.
She is Incredibly low maintenance to keep – despite being thoroughbred she is most happy and healthy living out – so long as she is well fed, has plenty of grass and is well rugged up.
Perfect and easy to do in all ways. Currently loved to bits and it will be hard for them to let her go. Really must be loving five-star home only. Price is 5000 sterling or euro equivalent on day of sale,
