5yr Old Mare 16.3hh, top breeding for Eventing/Showjumping. Full breeding recorded on Green book. Broken late as a 4yr Old and then returned into work this summer. Given plenty of time to grow into herself and mature. Tara is a lovely mare to have around very easy to do in every way and has a very sensible head on her shoulders. Real cuddly horse who loves to please. Stands to be mounted at a mounting block and is also fine to get a leg up. Is in no way humpy/cold backed or girthy. Perfect to tack up, turn out, catch, load, pull and trim. She has not been clipped before although I wouldn’t have thought this would be an issue. Absolutely no vices. This is a Quality mare that was bred to go to the top and that is exactly where she will go with the right owner. Superb straight paces, big scopey jump and a great brain to go with. Stunning to look at and is an ideal Event mare. She would also excel in showjumping or as a superlative all-rounder. Tara is a responsive but sensible ride with good transitions. Doesn’t need lunging after a few days off is fine just to hop up on. Obviously not for a complete novice as still needs producing further and to start going out and about to get mileage up. Fabulous loose and straight paces for dressage and a scopey and athletic jump for showjumping and cross country. Inquisitive and curious personality showing her to be brave to take on new lessons and experiences. Our arena as you can see from the video is like a lake and has been all summer as all we have had is rain, rain and more rain! This has meant she has done more hacking then anything throughout the summer. Latest video was taken only last week. Ideal for someone to produce on further, she is worth quadruple the money in another 6months when she has some mileage up and has started competing. For sale as we are full for the winter and need the stable, along with the fact she is being wasted due to the lack of facilities.
Clean vet cert from last month and from when we purchased from the breeder at the start of the summer. Only thing noted is that she has two curbs. Both vets (equine vets) have noted that these are of no significance and will never affect her competitive performance. She of course is open to be re-vetted if required and open to xrays at buyers expense. No sarcoids, warts, splints or stable vices.
This mare has a wonderfully sweet temperament.
She hacks alone and in company very sensibly.
Tara is by Lancelot out of a Supreme Leader/Deep Run mare. These top National Hunt thoroughbred lines are now hard to come by.
This mare is based with ourselves in Co. Kerry. Nearest airport Kerry (KIR) with direct flights from Stansted or Luton in the UK or there are connecting internal flights for 40 euros each way from Dublin airport. We our happy to facilitate pick ups and drop offs if you would like to come and try.
