Meet Benedict. He is a 14yr old gelding who is an utter gentleman. Standing at 16.2/3hh he certainly isn’t lacking weight carrying ability. For a big horse who is super safe he can go when required! Has no problem hunting up front or doing gates at the back of the field. Super mannerly both on the ground and under saddle. This guy is a homebred and only for sale as his current owner is retiring from hunting. Benedict wasn’t hunted until he was 6 and then only did every other Sunday in the season so he has less wear and tear than a younger hunter who is hunted hard all season. He has years left in him, he loves his job and knows how to bring you home safe after a day of challenging hunting. As you can see from the pictures he is as brave as a lion when it comes to any obstacle. Hunted and ridden at home in a snaffle and a child would be safe on him. Responsive of your leg and light in your hand he makes a comfortable, enjoyable ride. He has good transitions in the school but would need some work if you wanted him to be ridden in a consistent outline for flatwork sessions. He has never been asked to do this. Simply he has been used as a hunter and to compete in hunter trials on nothing else. He is a super hack and great in traffic. Doesn’t get strong or silly in open spaces or in big crowds. A faithful horse that will give you years of safe and enjoyable days out.
