My name is Hagen, and I would be delighted to welcome you on a Mushroom Foraging Course/Holidays. Here in the warm climes, South of Bordeaux and Toulouse, France
I would like to introduce you to so much more though, at the same time; I can’t help it, my eyes scan upwards, sideways and down, to the tree’s, the wildlife, the lake and everything in between.
Mother nature is simply incredible.
I have always been fascinated by nature… As a young child you could find me collecting caterpillars, newts, lizards and tadpoles, crabs, and foraging sweet chestnuts, fungi and black berries…
As the years progressed I become more involved in many areas; I have passed five glorious years as the Vice Chair of the fungus collecting group in the South of England.
Since then I have gone on to form my own group; Bournemouth and Dorset Foraging and Identification.
I regularly hold foraging and Identification days, where I encourage others to actively engage and participate, no question is too silly; I want you to discover the passion for what we are offered with no need to visit the supermarket.
I have subsequently developed a wider interest in bush craft, fishing, foraging for Seafood, wild greens and fungus.
However, the delights of Southern France offer a variety of rich and varied pickings. All this on a large private estate.
Personally, I can think of nothing better, than for all of us to cut loose, go forth with our baskets in the morning, and hope that by dusk, we will be around the Chateau d’Albizia table, recounting our tales, sipping well matched wine, eating our prized finds 😊
